This session provides an introduction to hypermobility, exploring what it is, how it may present in children, and the important role Occupational Therapy can play in supporting those affected. Participants will gain insight into the common signs and symptoms of hypermobility, the ways it can influence daily activities such as self-care, school participation, and play, and how early identification can make a positive difference.
The session will take a practical, accessible approach, focusing on awareness and understanding of hypermobility. Attendees will be introduced to simple, evidence-informed strategies and supportive approaches that can help children build confidence, develop functional skills, and participate more fully in everyday life.
By the end of the session, participants will have a stronger understanding of what hypermobility means, how it may affect a child’s daily experiences, and when involving an Occupational Therapist could provide valuable support and guidance.
