Autism Assessment
An Autism diagnostic assessment helps us build a clear and comprehensive understanding of your child's development, strengths, communication profile and everyday experiences. It brings together developmental history, autism specific assessment tools, sensory modulation assessment and observations across home and school to explore how your child engages in the activities that matter to them. This joined up approach allows us to develop a detailed picture of their presentation, participation and the areas where support may be helpful.
What's Included
To help you feel prepared and informed, here is a clear overview of what is included in our Autism diagnostic package.
Multidisciplinary Autism Assessment
Your child receives a full autism assessment delivered by our multidisciplinary team. This includes developmental history, autism specific tools, sensory modulation assessment and psychological input to build a rounded understanding of their presentation.
Comprehensive Diagnostic Report
You receive a clear diagnostic report that outlines findings, strengths, areas of need and the functional impact on daily life. It is accepted by schools, professionals and local authorities, helping families access appropriate support with confidence.
1:1 Feedback Session
Once the assessment is complete, you are invited to a dedicated feedback session where we explore the results at a calm, manageable pace. This gives you space to ask questions and understand what the findings mean for your child and family.
Post Diagnosis Workshops
Families are offered practical workshops designed to support life after diagnosis. These cover sensory regulation, emotional wellbeing, school based approaches and neurodiversity affirming strategies to help you make meaningful changes in daily life.
Why Choose OT4me
Your child is supported by a team of Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists and Specialist OTs. Together we bring a rounded, evidence informed understanding of development, communication, sensory needs and daily participation, ensuring diagnostic decisions are robust and aligned with NICE guidance.
Our recommendations focus on everyday life. You receive a clear diagnostic report, a 1:1 feedback session and access to post diagnosis workshops that explore sensory regulation, emotional wellbeing and school based strategies. Everything is designed to help your child thrive at home, in school and in the wider community.
Child-centred Practice
We take time to understand each child's unique strengths, communication style and sensory needs. Every assessment, recommendation and interaction is shaped around what helps them feel safe, confident and able to take part in everyday life.
Neuro-affirming Approach
We recognise and respect neurological difference and focus on what supports each child's wellbeing. Our assessments and recommendations are designed to affirm identity, reduce stress and build confidence in school, home and community settings.
Supportive and Compassionate Care
Families deserve a diagnostic journey that feels calm, clear and kind. We create a supportive process where children feel understood and parents feel reassured every step of the way.
Strengths-based Understanding
We look beyond challenges to understand what each child enjoys, excels in and responds well to. This helps us build practical recommendations that nurture confidence and participation.
